Salsa Combos

Salsa sauces can be a good addition to your meals and health plan, as long as they are made from fresh, organic, and easily mixed ingredients. The best salsa combo is made of five ingredients: tomato, hot pepper, onion, garlic, and lime.

Homemade Salsas for different occasions


Pineapple salsa-The Summer bomb

Ingredients-1 small pineapple, 2/3 cup red pepper, diced, 1 cup red onion, diced, 1 clove garlic, diced, 1 jalapeño pepper, diced, juice of 1/2 a lime,1 tsp. sea salt,1/4 cup whey, (optional, for fermenting), a handful of chopped cilantro, (optional).

Instructions

  1. Peel and core pineapple.
  2. Chop the pineapple into 1/4" to 1/2" pieces and place in mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in diced red pepper, red onion, garlic, and jalapeño pepper. Add lime juice and salt.
  4. Serve with chips, chicken, or fish.

Cucumber salsa-Stay energized

Ingredients-2 cups peeled and roughly chopped cucumber, 4 garlic cloves, peeled, 1/4 cup fresh cilantro or 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 3/4 teaspoon sea salt.

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until the Picante sauce is a consistency that you're happy with.
  2. Pour over salads, beans, meats, or veggie bowls. Serve as a dipping sauce for quesadillas, potato wedges, or raw vegetables. Or, enjoy as a gazpacho alongside crusty bread.
